The FHOPE online pallet exchanger is an inline, conveyor-integrated pallet changing machine that swaps pallets by clamping the full load and rotating it 180°. Unlike pusher-type systems that shift loads sideways, or V-shape tilters that lean a load 90°, this machine performs a non-push load transfer: the load body is clamped and inverted 180° as a consolidated unit, preserving column alignment and stacking integrity without lateral shearing or sliding. After inversion, the load's spatial orientation is reversed — what was the top becomes the bottom — so the contents must remain stable in that inverted state.

The new pallet is placed on top of the load before entering the machine. The load is then hydraulically or pneumatically clamped for stability, rotated 180°, and exits the machine resting on the new pallet at the bottom — while the old pallet ends up on top, where it is removed manually or automatically depending on the configuration.

With a representative configuration of L1200 × W1100–1200 × H1200–1800 mm loads, a maximum turnover capacity of 2T, a 180° turnover angle, an approximate 50-second turnover time, and wireless remote control operation, this online pallet exchanger suits production lines and distribution operations that need repeated, low-labor pallet changes — replacing damaged pallets, switching to internal or hygienic pallets, or preparing export shipments.

Operating Sequence

How the Online Pallet Exchanger Works

Initial loading on conveyor

Products loaded on the old pallet arrive at the machine via the infeed conveyor.
New pallet placement

A new pallet is loaded directly on top of the product load, ready to become the base pallet after rotation.
Entry into the turning station

The load — old pallet underneath, new pallet on top — moves into the pallet exchanger.
Clamping and stabilization

A hydraulic or pneumatic pressing mechanism applies pressure to stabilize the load before rotation begins.
180° rotation

The clamped load is turned a full 180°. The new pallet moves to the bottom; the old pallet ends up on top.
Exit and old pallet removal

The load exits the machine on the new pallet. The old pallet on top is removed manually or automatically, per the chosen configuration.

Turnover time is approximately 50 seconds in the representative configuration; line-level throughput depends on conveyor speeds, load characteristics, and old-pallet removal method.

The key selection question is how much movement your load can tolerate.

Well suited for: replacing damaged or non-compliant pallets, switching between wooden and internal or hygienic pallets, preparing export-spec pallets, handling neatly stacked loads with minimal displacement, and reducing manual lifting and labor input.

Less suitable when: the load cannot tolerate full inversion, exceeds the representative size or 2T envelope, or must remain upright throughout transfer.

FAQ

1. How is this different from a pushing-type pallet changer?

The pushing type transfers the load horizontally by sliding it onto a new pallet. This online pallet exchanger clamps the whole load and rotates it 180°, performing a non-push transfer. It suits loads that hold together when inverted but should not be dragged sideways.

2. How is it different from a V-shape pallet changer or pallet turner?

V-shape machines use a controlled 90° side tilt to change the bottom pallet. This machine uses a full 180° rotation. If your load tolerates inversion better than a side lean, the 180° method is usually the gentler option; if it cannot be inverted at all, the V-shape or 95° exchanger is the better fit.

3. Where does the old pallet go after the cycle?

After the 180° rotation, the old pallet ends up on top of the load and is removed either manually or automatically, depending on the machine configuration you select.

4. What is the cycle time?

Turnover time is approximately 50 seconds per cycle in the representative configuration. Actual line throughput depends on conveyor speeds and removal method, so total capacity is confirmed per project.

Loads that are not mechanically self-supporting in the inverted state are not good candidates — for example, open containers, unsealed liquid drums without sealed heads, loose granular materials, and unsecured loose top layers. For those, evaluate the pushing-type pallet changer, the V-shape pallet changer, or the 95° exchanger instead.

7. How is the machine operated?
