Description:

Designed for heavy-duty industrial environments such as frozen food distribution centers and medical supply storage facilities, this stationary pallet changer enables efficient, floor-level pallet exchanges. Utilizing a 5.5 kW hydraulic drive system, the machine performs a 95° rotation cycle in 20–30 seconds. It features a dual-action system comprising an overhead top press-down device (which secures loads at variable heights) and adjustable side holders that grip the load and maintain structural integrity, particularly when handling loose or unstable pallets. All core performance metrics listed below represent the standard engineering range; final specifications are tailored per project to match specific load characteristics and facility layouts.

Operating cycle & mechanism

The pallet exchange process is engineered for safety, speed, and minimal manual intervention:

  1. Loading & securing: The loaded pallet is placed at floor level. The overhead top press-down device applies vertical holding pressure appropriate to the stack height, while the dual side holders clamp the load horizontally to prevent shifting during rotation. The machine is also able to hold a loose pallet, keeping its shape throughout the exchange.
  2. Hydraulic rotation: The hydraulic system drives a 95° turning cycle. This tilts the stack, allowing the original bottom pallet to be safely released and swapped out while the loose pallet structure is continuously supported.
  3. Discharge: Once the new pallet is in place, the stack is returned to the horizontal floor position and released for outbound transport.

The entire cycle is managed via a local control panel or remote control, running on the 5.5 kW hydraulic power unit. A 20–30 second changing speed keeps heavy pallet exchanges predictable at low labor intensity.

Typical industrial applications

Configuration is determined per project based on operational workflows:

  • Incoming hygiene-sensitive switching: Transfer arriving supplier pallets to the pallet your application requires: plastic or aluminum pallets for disinfected sensitive areas, in-house racking pallets, particular sized or styled pallets that your own managing system is planned around, or inexpensive pallets that you would like to use but your supplier does not supply.
  • Outbound re-palletizing: Relocate outgoing goods from your in-house pallets to a range of options: wood pallets where plastic or aluminum are utilized in production; dispensable or one-trip pallets where the customer is unlikely to return good ones; slip sheets or other slim pallets that save on cubage, weight and pallet prices; the customer's respective pallets; sling bags for bulk materials; or inexpensive pool pallets when you want to preserve your own long-lived pallets but the customer prefers pool pallets. Carrier selection is configured per project.
  • Cold-chain & frozen operations: Integrates seamlessly with the insertion of Freezer Spacers during the pallet exchange step, eliminating secondary handling.
  • Heavy or awkward loads: Robust construction supports high-capacity transfers of even very heavy pallets of products, quickly and reliably. (Note: for applications prohibiting rotation or tilting, the push-type non-tilting pallet changer or an Inline Pallet Changer can be evaluated per project.)

Engineering selection criteria & load envelope

Project configurations are established based on three primary engineering parameters:

  • Load weight: The standard hydraulic configuration is rated up to a maximum loading of 2,000 kg. Heavier loads require engineering review prior to order finalization.
  • Load envelope: The standard configuration accommodates loads measuring 1,100–1,200 mm in length, 1,000–1,200 mm in width, and 1,000–1,800 mm in height. Variable stack heights are accommodated via adjustable top-press positioning; loads outside the range are reviewed per project.
  • In-feed & facility layout: Designed for floor-level integration. In-feed methods and control station positioning are customized around your existing material handling equipment (such as pallet jacks or forklifts) and available floor space.

Technical specifications (Model FPFZ-02F)

  • Model: FPFZ-02F
  • Length range: 1,100–1,200 mm
  • Width range: 1,000–1,200 mm
  • Height range: 1,000–1,800 mm
  • Max. loading capacity: 2,000 kg (subject to engineering review for heavier loads)
  • Changing speed: 20–30 seconds per cycle
  • Turning degree: 95°
  • Drive system: Hydraulic (5.5 kW motor power)
  • Control method: Control panel / remote control

Note: Final specifications are configured per project around specific load, pallet, and facility layout requirements.

Operational advantages

  • Holds the load, not just the pallet: The top press device for tall loads and two adjustable side holders keep the stack contained throughout the 95° cycle.
  • Loose-pallet capability: The machine holds the loose pallet, keeping its shape in pallet changing instead of letting layers shift or spill.
  • Floor-level operation: The pallet is changed easily on the floor, with no pit or overhead lifting required.
  • Fast, repeatable cycles: A 20–30 second changing speed moves heavy pallet exchanges at warehouse pace.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Q: What is the maximum load capacity for Model FPFZ-02F?
A: The standard rating is up to 2,000 kg. Loads exceeding this threshold undergo individual engineering review.

Q: How does the machine handle unstable or loose pallets?
A: The combination of the adjustable overhead press-down device and dual side holders ensures the entire stack and loose pallets remain securely clamped and shaped throughout the 95° rotation.

Q: How long does one pallet change take?
A: The changing speed is 20–30 seconds per exchange, driven hydraulically.

Q: Which pallets can I switch to?
A: On the incoming side: plastic or aluminum pallets for disinfected sensitive areas, in-house racking pallets, particular sized or styled pallets, or inexpensive pallets. On the outgoing side: wood pallets, one-trip pallets, slip sheets or other slim pallets, the customer's respective pallets, and sling bags. Freezer Spacers can also be included.

Q: Can the machine be integrated into an existing warehouse layout?
A: Yes. Because operations occur at floor level, the control placement and in-feed approach are customized to match your existing material handling equipment and available floor space.
